SCREENING: Man with a Movie Camera (1929), Dallas

  • Texas Theatre 231 Jefferson Boulevard Dallas, TX, 75208 United States (map)

SEPTEMBER, 29, 2021 @ 6:00pm (Central)

Please join us for a special opening night event celebrating film and remembering those in our community who are no longer with us. The evening begins with a showing of Man with a Movie Camera, the classic 1929 film by Dziga Vertov, with an original score written and conducted by Jack Waldenmaier. The original recording is from our 25th anniversary VideoFest.

This event celebrates Silent Film Day and honors the passing of Jack Waldenmaier. The performers are Helen Blackburn on flute, Drew Lang on percussion, Jason Bucklin on guitar and Rainer Eudeikis on cello.

We follow the screening with a joint memorial for members of our community who have passed away. This pandemic has prevented us from mourning as a community. We open our final festival by remembering those who remain with us through their impact on our lives.

The reception begins at 6 pm. The film screening begins at 7 pm with the memorial service to follow.

Tickets are $12.26 each at https://videofest.eventive.org/schedule/man-with-a-movie-camera-612c73e10bc64300627775e2
